There are many other things guests can do to complement the relaxing environment. They can, for example, go on a nature walk, have a lovely riverside picnic, or simply relax by the calm water. The retreat brings back the connection between people and nature by providing guests with a sense of peace as if they were wandering through the peaceful quiet place of Bali Indonesia.

Business History

Linaw was conceptualized some time in 2016. After Mrs. Girlie Macapagal's father died, her mother sold the place to her and her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Macapagal wanted more space to build a resort. They decided to expand their lot and bought the neighboring one. The place is about 2000 square meters and the river is about 2 hectares. Construction on the building began in 2018. Because it was expensive, they joined forces with Ma'am Girlie's sister and her husband. Together, they became owners of a corporation. In 2019, when Linaw is about to finish, it was hindered by the pandemic. They started operating in 2021 when the restrictions are not so strict anymore.

The business is called Linaw River Retreat. It's a corporate business named Gorospe-Vios-Macapagal Ventures Incorporated. Gorospe is the family name of Ma’am Girlie’s brother-in-law. Ma'am Girlie's family name is Vios, and she is married to a Macapagal.

About the Business

Their goal is to create a resort that offers a peaceful escape in nature. The presence of the river has a calming effect, adding to the concept of relaxation. A retreat that will provide relaxation for people who are very busy in city life. The place is near the city, so it is very convenient to travel to Linaw whenever you want to. The owners actually went to Bali to benchmark, and they took inspiration from there.

Their mission is to make Linaw the first ever Bali-inspired retreat. Their goal is to grow the business and become the top destination in Mindanao. They are using social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram to make this happen. They post updates and also share posts of their guests. You can check Linaw River Retreat in their social media accounts: Facebook https://www.facebook.com/LinawTinago and Instagram LINAW River Retreat (@linawriverretreat) for you to have an idea of what the place looks like.

The peaceful surroundings and privacy of Linaw River Retreat in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Iligan City. With its cold rivers and serene environment, it reminds one of Bali's most calm sides, offering a chance for relaxation, restoration, and reconnection to nature in the most beautiful place. The Linaw River Retreat lets you experience a piece of Bali without having you travel far away.
